Trouble found James in the form of a large man of indeterminate race who disagreed with James' assessment of his treatment of his wife.

His first mistake was laughing at James when she informed him that he should cease and desist beating on his spouse. He stopped laughing when two of his teeth landed on the ground.

His second mistake was underestimating the power of the Wraith. He quickly reassessed this when she broke his arm in two places.

By the time he watched the Wraith walk away from him from his vantage point on the ground, his blood already soaked into the leather of her coat, he understood the meaning of fear -- and pain.
